Sometimes you want to get a closer look at the images in articles or comments.
You can now tap or click on any picture to display a high resolution full screen zoomable/draggable version of it.
Zooming
Zoom in by rolling your mouse wheel forward or using two fingers and spreading them.
Dragging
Drag the image with your mouse holding the left button down or use a single finger.
Control Box
The control box in the top left can also be used to zoom and drag. This control will appear on desktop and tablets but does not show on phones due to the smaller screen size.
Close popup
Close the image by clicking the 'X' in the top right or using the back button on the browser.
Image zooming works on all images in all articles and comments both on web site and app versions of your content.
Summary
There three ways to control the zooming and panning of the image:
Method 1: Mouse
- double click to zoom in
- hold left mouse button down to drag image
- you can also use the control box that appears in the top left of the image
- click 'X' in top right of the screen to close or use the back button on browser
The control box appears for a couple of seconds when the cursor moves into the browser. It also appears on double clicks and whenever the image is dragged
Method 2: Mouse wheel
- roll wheel forward to zoom in
- roll wheel back to zoom out
- use the other mouse controls listed above in method one
Method 3: Touch
- tap image to display full screen
- two fingers spread to zoom in
- one finger to drag zoomed image
- use one finger in top left control box
